MILAN – Millennials are less likely to drink coffee than older generation. And when they do, it’s not at home. Under half of young adults, indeed, drank coffee in the past day and most of them opting for away- from- home.
This is what a Alliance Bernstein research shows: just 48% percent of young adults, compared to 58% of older consumers, enjoy a cup of coffee. And the 42% drank coffee away- from- home compared to 31% among older groups.
“Our analysis suggests that away from home coffee consumption is growing faster than the broader restaurant industry, driven by demographic shifts in the coffee-drinking population,” analyst Sara Senatore.
